Psych Book Quote
"His eyes fell. To the carpet. To the book. To his hands. A great silence loomed up which was both divisive, putting infinity between us, and binding. For a boy who said nothing he certainly left nothing unsaid" (Hayden 32). I used this quote from Murpheys Boy because it ties to psychology in so many ways. Psychologist can be very frusterated when the patient is shy and says nothing. But good psychologist use that to their advantage. They will use the silence and observe it and predict why they are silent and go from there. The psychologist in Murpheys Boy is a very good psychologist. She uses the silence to her advantage and finally opens up Murphey and they wind up becoming great friends. The goal of a psychologist is to first break down the "infinante walls" and become closer to the patient so you can help them. It takes the psychologist in Murpheys Boy to do that but finally she does and it works very well. It takes the psychologist a very long time because Murphey has seen a lot. He saw his mother and father murderd in front of him. At first he is silent about the whole thing. After a lot of persistance from Kate Green, the psycholgist, finally Murphey opens up and he fells better after talking to the psychologist.
I used this picture because it was two people communicating in a very basic form.

Glog post refelction
In total I have 9 pictures, 2 of them are of popular psychologist the most popular being Sigmund Frued who believed in our unconcious min and our concious mind, and B.F Skinner who was a behaviorilist. I have 4 pictures of the brain with words inside them. Ceartain words such as health, perception, personality, memory, and language all words that deeply involve psychology. One of the pictures involve a brain and shows some of the nerves which deals with how people think. Another picture is of a picture of a drawing of a head opened up and a person sitting in it, it reminded me of a self-concious which has to deal with psychology. The last picture is of a neuron and their are billions of neurons in the brain.

The title of the book I read was Murphy's Boy. I picked it out because time was running out and I saw it everytime I went to look for another book. After doing a quick research on the book in the last minutes of the class Murphy's Boy intreged me a bit. The book is a two and a half year study on some kid who has been mentally abused by his parents. After seeing the results the psychatrist and the kid become much closer and much better friends. It is an older book but I believe it will still be relavant to me.
